About Us
Hello, my name is Charlotte Gilmour and I welcome you.  Well, we're entering our third year now in 2009 & still slowly but surely growing. Thanks to everyone's support & confidence, which we're so very greatful for.  I want to thank everyone for their testimonials regarding their experience with DigiFavs, and just so everyone knows right up front, every single one of our testimonials is genuine and not reimbursed in any way. We feel really good about that.

DigiFavs is proof that one doesn't have to pay a fortune for effective embroidery product promotion. When you hire DigiFavs you are helping a mom to stay home and work. In this way, my family is better cared for ~ so your advertising budget is also well spent, I am adding that because I know that many of you will appreciate knowing that. Lesson learnt too, just because your kids become teenagers does not mean they don't need you when they come home from school, this is what I found out as my children have gotten older, they need me more than ever, rather than less.

Please note, we also own the
"The Enchanted Cottage" site, which is also listed in at DigiFavs.

People still say, "You look very young to have 41 years behind the needle", and always with a smile, but it's true, my grandmother was from Eastern Europe, as such, I was raised with a strict code of conduct (though grandma probably didn't think it was going to *stick* at the time, but it did =0)  She started me out very young, with my sewing and embroidery and it became a lifelong love to date.  I have a special appreciation for the challenges of textile artists, our work is important and not to be undervalued, if you're reading this, I'm sure you agree.  This concept is why I work so hard here, not just for myself and my own family, but your's too.

I'm also a digitizer, and now my hubby Chuck has the bug. Our designs are all tested thoroughly before distribution, and can be viewed at The Enchanted Cottage
.

To tell you a bit more about us, we're a family of six.  We'll start with dad, Chuck is steel worker for a local metal fabrication company here in Nevada ~ Currently, though it hurts his body (welding is very hard work) Chuck is back in the welding pit this year and when one looks at him, one does not think of embroidery LOL (Chuck is a big Viking looking fella). Good news is that Chuck remains enrolled in college (online through the University of Phoenix) to study and learn business management amongst other business related studies.  Chuck other interests include photography.  Chuck is the proud owner of a Janome Memory Craft 11000 (and the debt that goes along with it, LOL).

Moving on to mom, Charlotte (that's me ;-) I'm a stay at home mom who is involved in my local community and helped conceive a food program known as Project Food, this program helps families build their pantries in a healthy way that they can afford, the program works in combination with grants and actually combining participant's donations to pool everyone's funds to get the best value they can for their food dollar ~ it's been over a decade and I am still involved with the program, now being the senior volunteer there as well as the last founding member. I am also a crisis counselor in certain areas of addiction and have many years under my belt helping others and also spent several years serving on my states legal services board as a sort of "watch dog" along with other board members to help insure clients and justice were served.  I myself, am the proud owner of a Singer Quantum XL6000.

My husband and I believe that while it may not be essential in this day in age, it probably helps to have a caring and loving adult home to greet the kids when they come home from school, even with teens; perhaps though, in this day and age . . . no less importantly with teens. So with these concepts in mind, I work hard with DigiFavs to help husband Chuck support the family, and take the edge off a few bills along the way (hopefully) while at the same time being available for the kids. I have a lot of experience working with people and enough business management training and marketing skills, coupled with experience and discipline to help insure that DigiFavs is always handled in a responsible manner.

Next we have eldest, Billy who is the computer guru of the family.  Billy recently was hired by a major company as an intern in the computer engineering department, I can't tell you how proud I am of that young man.  For years we scrimpted and sacrificed, but he had to do the rest (which was and remains a lot) but after all that, now I can rest easier because I know he will have a more viable income and not have to struggle as much as we have, I thank God every day for that.  His new employer invests in their employees, so Billy will work there and continue to attend university, at the end of that road will finally be his IEEE certification for engineering . . . these are the cream of the crop in the computer industry.

Next we have Heidi . . . who wants to become a professional fine artist, she is still working towards that goal. Brother Billy will keep her posted regarding digital art internships at the company he just started with.  Next is Gabrielle, she still wants to become a professional chef and is considering joining the service to help get the funds for school; and finally, last  . . . but not least, Willow . . . who is still too young to care yet, she's just having fun, being a kidlet.  Both the last two girls keep mom on her toes, they're good kids but they do keep me hopping.

Our concepts of home embroidery workers:  Independent digitizers and providers are the very backbone of the embroidery world ~ and it is obvious, since independents produce some of the very finest designs and materials available at a price that is affordable to almost everyone.

Words of encouragement to others: The embroidery world can be very competitive, but we say to you . . .
your work, and quality of service will speak for itself, and because what you do is art . . . and because of the many varied tastes and needs of the customer, in our opinion there is plenty of room for all of us!  So don't worry!  Digitize . . . embroider . . . create . . . invent . . . but above all, enjoy your craft,  but don't cover it in red tape!  I hear digitizers say all the time, that there are too many digitizers "out there", but I think this is a "limiting" comment . . . yes indeed, there are a lot of digitizers "out there", but not all digitize equally well, and each one has a different level of service (though hopefully a good one) in any case, digitizing can be a lot of work, much thought and time goes into good digitizing . . . and this doesn't even take into consideration all of the varied tastes and needs that customers present! That fact, in and of itself, serves to create a market that is varied and will remain dynamic, thus allowing enough room for everyone to participate!

As mentioned above, your work and dedication to your customers will speak best on your own behalf, those skills are the best ambassador you will ever have regarding who you yourself are =0)

My name is Charlotte, you've seen me on many groups (which I still belong to) giving help wherever I can, way before I started this site, I'm just me and . . . I hope you'll consider advertising on our site.

Thanks for reading . . .
